We are glad to announce about the significant court’s decision in Lithuania – an international engineering company was awarded more than EUR 500,000 in damages for unfair competition due to the disclosure and the use of a trade secret. Congratulations to Jurgita Judickienė and the team, who managed to achieve that two companies from Lithuania who misappropriated the trade secret and benefited from it would compensate for the damage.
In this case, the Supreme Court of Lithuania
formed a new practice – damages were calculated on the basis of the gross
profit received by companies that had misappropriated a trade secret. This is
one of the largest damages awarded in Lithuania for misappropriation of a trade
secret.
