TRINITI JUREX represented a Lithuanian family residing in the United States who sought to retain Lithuanian citizenship while also holding citizenship of another country in accordance with the Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania.
Under Lithuanian citizenship law, persons who left Lithuania before 11 March 1990, were deported from occupied Lithuania, as well as their descendants, may hold both Lithuanian and another citizenship simultaneously.
This case was particularly notable because one of the clients had already lost Lithuanian citizenship by an order of the Minister of the Interior. After collecting the necessary historical and legal evidence and preparing a solid legal position, TRINITI JUREX successfully achieved recognition of the client’s right to dual citizenship and the annulment of the Minister’s order. As a result, the client retained Lithuanian citizenship.
This case once again demonstrates the importance of thorough evidence gathering, careful assessment of historical circumstances, and consistent legal representation in complex citizenship matters.
