TRINITI JUREX achieved that the environmental impact of M. Lietuvio street would be reassessed

We represented the association Visorių slėnio gyventojų bendruomenė and are delighted with one more community’s victory. The court ordered a new and maximum possible assessment of the impact of the planned construction of M.Lietuvio street on the health of the population. Congratulations to the firm’s partner Deivis Valiulis and the team of the real estate practice group for successfully defending the rights of the residents.

M. Lietuvio Street is planned as the Northern Vilnius bypass, which should connect the Vilnius Western bypass and Ukmergės str. with Molėtai road. When preparing the environmental impact assessment report, Vilnius City Municipality followed the provision that the planned M.Lietuvio street will be restricted to heavy vehicle traffic and the planned maximum permitted speed will be 50 km/h.

However, The Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania stated that the impact on the environment must be assessed in accordance with the full technical requirements for such streets’ category: considering that heavy traffic is allowed and the speed limit is 70 km/h instead of 50 km/h.
