TRINITI contributes to the introduction of a new electronic proof of transaction document

Law firm TRINITI lawyer Arina Stivriņa and attorney-at-law Sandis Petrovičs have successfully represented the interests of the postal industry operators “DPD Latvija” and “Omniva” in discussions with the State Revenue Service, facilitating the introduction of a new electronic proof of transaction document — an electronically prepared receipt.

Following the entry into force of Cabinet Regulation No. 821 of 18 December 2018, “Amendments to Cabinet Regulation No. 96 of 11 February 2014 “Procedures for the Use of Electronic Devices and Equipment for the Registration of Taxes and Other Payments”, postal operators will be able to certify transactions by issuing electronically prepared registered receipts. In times of rapid economic digitization, the introduction of a new electronic proof of transaction document is an important step in the tax administration’s move towards tax administration automation and the reduction of corporate administrative burdens. In turn, electronically prepared receipts for customers of postal operators will provide additional convenience for the storage and accounting of proof of transaction documents.
