Maarja Pild-Freiberg Makes Partner at TRINITI

TRINITI is proud to announce that Attorney-at-Law Maarja Pild-Freiberg, a leading Estonian expert in data protection and media law with over a decade at the firm, has become a partner.

Maarja Pild-Freiberg has extensive experience in data protection, IT, media, commercial, and intellectual property law. She leads TRINITI’s Estonian IP-IT, Media and Data Protection working group and is also a member of the Financial Law working group. She has represented clients in complex disputes both in Estonia and before the Court of Justice of the European Union, and has advised companies on transactions and projects that have shaped legal practice in the fields of the digital environment and innovation.

“TRINITI’s attorneys are not merely enforcers of the law, but also its developers – actively contributing to law-making and unafraid to challenge established interpretations when necessary. This mindset lies at the heart of Maarja Pild-Freiberg’s work and attitude,” said Karmen Turk, Partner at TRINITI.

“Maarja’s consistent dedication, deep professionalism, and ability to combine analytical precision with strategic insight have made her a highly valued advisor among both our clients and colleagues. Her joining the circle of partners is a natural and well-deserved recognition of her commitment and achievements. We are delighted to welcome Maarja as a partner and wish her every success in her new role,” Turk added.

“TRINITI is a place where quality and cooperation are truly valued. I am honoured and excited to contribute to the firm’s strategic development and to help our clients navigate complex legal challenges,” said Maarja Pild-Freiberg.

In addition to her legal practice, Pild-Freiberg is an active and influential advocate for the rule of law, raising issues related to fundamental rights and ethics in the digital age. In 2025, the Estonian Bar Association recognised her with the title of “Diamond of the Bar Association,” an honour awarded to lawyers demonstrating outstanding professional development and contribution to the advancement of the law. Since 2017, Pild-Freiberg has taught a master’s course in Privacy and Data Protection Law at the University of Tartu’s IT Law programme.

TRINITI is a leading law firm operating in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The firm advises clients on complex transactions and disputes, combining deep legal expertise with practical business acumen.
