The Snowden Affair gave food for thought…

On October 4th, Karmen Turk, an associate in TRINITI Tallinn and one of the leading Estonian IT/IP lawyers expert, participated in the panel discussion “Data and people in Internet food chain” at the cyber-security conference organised by the Estonian Information Technology Foundation for Education, in Tartu, Estonia.

According to Karmen, the Snowden Affair has made people think about values, primarily privacy. In her opinion Nothing will improve right away – lawyers still have insufficient knowledge about technology to quickly come up with new and reasonable laws. “At the same time, I recognise that a lot has been done on the international level in the four-five months following the Edward Snowden case,” added Turk.
